The Technical Expertise Volunteer Award is presented to an individual who has generously dedicated considerable time and shared their expertise in an advisory capacity towards the advancement of LEED in Canada. The recipient is highly regarded as a subject matter expert, serving as a member of one (or more) of the Council’s volunteer committees and their contributions to the planning, review, and execution of industry specific initiatives positively influence the productivity and effectiveness of the committee’s work. Committees may include: Technical Advisory Groups, Steering Committees, Building Lasting Change Program Committee, Product of the Year Jury, Greenest School in Canada Jury. This award is presented to an individual who is an employee of a national member company. Recipients of this award at the Chapter level will be put forward as finalists for the national “Ed Lim Technical Volunteer Award” which was renamed in 2019 in fond memory of a dedicated technical expert, Edwin Lim, who lived by the mantra “Be the change you wish to see in the world” and was so generous sharing his time and expertise. Evaluations will consider: degree of expertise; demonstrated commitment and reliability; commitment to sustainability; influence on committee; and, contributions to success.

Le Prix du bénévole en expertise technique est décerné à une personne qui a généreusement consacré beaucoup de temps et a partagé son expertise à titre consultatif pour faire progresser le programme LEED au Canada. Le lauréat est considéré comme un expert du domaine; il est membre d’un ou plusieurs comités bénévoles du CBDCa et ses contributions à la planification, à l’examen et à l’exécution d’initiatives particulières de l’industrie ont des influences positives sur la productivité et l’efficacité du travail des comités. Les comités en question peuvent être les suivants : groupes consultatifs techniques, comités directeurs, comité du programme Bâtir un changement durable, jury du Produit de l’année; jury de l’école la plus verte au Canada. Ce prix est remis à une personne qui est un employé d’une entreprise membre à l’échelle nationale. Les lauréats de ce prix à l’échelle d’une section régionale seront inscrits comme finalistes au « Prix Ed Lim du bénévole en expertise technique ». Ce prix a été renommé en 2019 à la mémoire d’Edwin Lim, un expert dévoué qui vivait avec le mantra « Soyez le changement que vous voulez voir dans le monde » et qui offrait si généreusement son temps et son expertise. Les critères d’évaluation sont les suivants : niveau d’expertise; engagement et fiabilité manifestes; engagement envers la durabilité; influence au sein d’un comité; et contributions à la réussite.
