The Mississauga Urban Design Awards program is the longest-running awards program of its kind in Ontario. From its inception in 1981, the awards program illustrates the City’s commitment to excellence and innovation in urban design with an ongoing desire to inspire, develop and celebrate design leaders who help raise the quality of life for its residents and shape the image of the City.

Award Category Description

A standalone object, public art, small-scale building component or landscape element which contributes significantly to the quality of the public realm. This includes infill housing, additions, public art on public or private lands, street furniture, light fixtures, canopies, signage, walkways, stairways, or fences.
