The Mayor’s Urban Design Awards (MUDA) recognizes the contribution of Calgary urban designers, architects, landscape architects, and artists to the livability of our city. They leave a legacy of high calibre urban design, buildings and public spaces, and help set the standard for future municipal planning and development.

Award Category Description

This category is for a plan or a study within Calgary that provides a strategy for urban transformation that has no official construction status. The strategy must not be short-term. Urban design studies, charrettes (intensive, multi-day sessions where designers, architects, engineers, subject matter experts, key stakeholders and community representatives collaborate on creating designs for a defined area), master plans, redevelopment strategies and community plans of high inspirational value may be submitted.
